There are a bunch of large buoys in front of the Encinas powerplant and there is always a gaggle of seals out there barking their heads off. Angel's ears always perked up whenever she heard them from across the water, so..She didn't like being out in the kayak much at first , but when we got within hearing (and smelling) range of the seals, she got pretty excited.
She kept shooting looks back at me like, "Isn't this great?!" She even barked back with wagging tail a couple of times at the seals and looked like she wanted to hop out and swim to them.
I told her they were her sea-cousins; she definitely seemed to have an affinity for them. They bark, they swim and they stink to high-heaven--everything a land-dog could love!

She nearly tipped the boat over when the pelicans started.
