I usually avoid Memorial Day traffic and riding in the rain,
but when the Sequoias call,
ya gotta accept the charges!

I spent my first night at the Sequoia Riverdance Bed & Breakfast: the frogs in the backyard serenaded me to sleep
and it's an impeccable place and breakfast to wake up to.

It was in the low-40's up on the mountain and the rain & traffic through LA were a drag,
but getting up to the forest was well worth the trouble.

I ate supper at the Stinking Rose in Beverly Hills the day before, so I soon had the whole forest to myself.
The LA location seemed more-gimmick-than-garlic, but I'm going to have to try the SF branch this summer.
It was pretty chilly and there were even a few flurries of snow at the pass, so I stopped at
the Wuksachi Lodge for hot soup, coffee and the heavenly hand-dryers in the public restrooms.
